Frank Unger (FAICD),
Managing Director, is an executive with over 30 years' experience in international business development and diplomacy. Ten years were on location in Asia and Europe, matching products, markets and companies. He has extensive management experience in Federal and State governments at the interface between governments, businesses and international markets. With a significant focus on public affairs and the promotion of trade and investment, he has provided advice, support and business to hundreds of companies. Familiar with the Federal public sector from seven years' work in Canberra (mostly in Trade and Resources), Frank Unger also worked eighteen months on oil rigs in Bass Strait. His international business facilitation skills are backed up by over six years as Australian Trade Commissioner in Seoul, and in Vienna covering Eastern European markets. After promoting Victorian business interests in Central Europe for 4 years as Commissioner for the Government of Victoria in Frankfurt, he returned to Melbourne as General Manager, International Operations, in Business Victoria. Frank Unger has lived 13 years in Asia and 17 years in Europe and is fluent in the German language. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is the author of Australia-Germany: Advancing Global Enterprise and co-authored Doing Business in Mexico with Roger.

Roger Frankel,
Director, has an extensive international network of contacts able to be harnessed in support of client organizations. As a former career diplomat he has a strong record of commercial success in Europe and South America. His most recent assignment was as Australian Ambassador to Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic. Previously he had headed the Trade Strategy and Business Affairs Branch of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was responsible for the organization of the National Trade and Investment Outlook Conferences in Melbourne. As a result Roger Frankel enjoys a strong personal reputation within the Australian business community and with government at Federal and State levels. At the conclusion of his recent posting in South America, he decided to put his unique and, in Australia, unmatched experience, skills and networks in Latin America at the service of Australian business. He has assisted companies in the education, environmental management, manufacturing and mining sectors with entry into markets in Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil. Roger has lived in Brazil, Argentina, Belgium, France and Venezuela, is fluent in French, Portuguese and Spanish and has a unique awareness of how to achieve commercial success in these markets. He is Brazil’s Honorary Consul in Melbourne.

David Aarons,
Special Adviser, is a senior executive with over 30 years’ experience international business. In 1988 David became the major shareholder and Managing Director of The Keys Group of companies, which he grew from a turnover of $1.5m to $50m in 2007, becoming one of Australia’s most successful and respected agricultural and food-trading companies and achieving extensive recognition by industry and State and Federal governments, including export awards and commendations. David expanded the business from South America into Latin America, then using the same skills and experience to blend the cultural knowledge into Asia, Africa and Europe. During this transition, the important factors for success were the image and reputation of the highly respected company, providing the leadership to move the group from a small/medium company, and developing regular markets for a diversified range of products. David is a founding member of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, has served on numerous VECCI Taskforce committees, as President of the Victorian Exporters’ Association, as President of the Australian International Traders’ Association, and as member of the International Trade Diploma Curriculum Development Committee in both RMIT and Monash University. He is Honorary Consul of Mexico in Melbourne.

Carla González Zlatar,
Special Adviser Chile, is a graduate of Commercial Engineering from Universidad Central (Santiago) and holds an MBA from the University of Queensland where she specialized in International Business. She lived in Australia for three years before returning to Chile. Carla speaks fluent Spanish and English and has an impressive resume, covering several professional fields. In Viña del Mar she worked in the commercial department of a fruit exporter, starting her exposure to international markets. Carla also has experience in retail, especially consumer electronics. She worked for two years at SEIL, Sony’s technical service provider and distributor of audio visual equipment in Chile. She worked as Artist Producer for Special Events at Providencia Television. Recognising a gap in the professional services market and feeling passionate about the scope of business opportunities between Australia and Chile, Carla created her own company in Chile. As Managing Director of Australian Consulting, and now in cooperation with frank advice (international), Carla seeks out and creates business opportunities for Australian firms, wherever synergy is found between Australian and Chilean companies, e.g. in education services, agriculture and fisheries, viticulture and winemaking, and mining and natural resource management.
